GARRY DODD waltzed to his fifth Capelles Open singles title in seven years last night at the GTTA Centre.
The left-hander played quite brilliantly to destroy five times champion and fellow Green Trophy man Phil Ogier in straight sets in the final.
The defending champion dropped just seven points and whitewashed a stunned Ogier in the second.
At that point Ogier knew how Scott Romeril felt, the 2006 title winner having been blitzed 3-0 and for the loss of just 16 points in the semis.
Jez Powell caused the shock of the night by defeating Alice Loveridge in straight sets at the quarter-final stage.
