Watson out in Hobart

HEATHER WATSON'S run in the Moorilla Hobart International came to an end overnight.

The Guernsey girl, who came through three qualifying rounds to reach the main draw, lost in three tight sets to Bulgarian world No. 48 Tsvetana Pironkova 7-6 (10), 3-6, 7-6 (2).

Over the weekend, Watson had beaten Olivia Rogowska of Australia 6-3, 6-2 and Germany's Kristina Barrois 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (1) in the second and third rounds of qualifying respectively.
