SEVEN titles out of 10 were up for grabs during two days of CI Championship action at the Hougue du Pommier and it was an undoubted triumph for the home contingent.

Nobody was more successful than Guernsey's newly-honoured Alison Merrien, who won her singles, pairs, triples and fours encounters.

The new MBE thrashed Jersey indoor champion Alison Camacho 21-5, winning the first eight ends to lead 14-0 before the visiting player finally broke her duck with a double.

Husband Ian could not emulate his wife and, despite claiming two shots on the opening end, was to lose 21-9 to John Lowery, who recovered from that first end setback to win nine out of the next 10 ends and take complete control of the match.
