Obituary - Steve Le Poidevin

HE WILL always be remembered as the man who gave local volleyball life.

But Steve Le Poidevin should not be remembered solely for driving a sport to heights it may struggle to attain again, he was a highly talented all-round sportsman full stop.

As everyone who knew him will testify, Steve was a chip off the old block.

Not only did he have the same beaming smile as his sports-mad father John 'JLeP' Le Poidevin, he shared his dad's zest to work for the betterment of sport.

In dad's case it was cricket and driving sport forward as the Guernsey Press's sports editor. For Steve it was volleyball who benefited.
