Savident eyes Florida return

LEE SAVIDENT is the big name absentee from the Guernsey squad for next month's World Cricket League Division Five campaign in Singapore.

The back injury he picked up in Malaysia in the successful Division Six promotion has ruled him out of the trip, and as he opens both the batting and bowling he leaves a big void.

The big all-rounder is suffering from a slipped disc and tears to two other discs, for which he is currently awaiting the date of an operation.

Adam Martel is also unavailable to travel, while Chris van Vliet has been dropped, meaning there is a recall for Tim Duke and call-ups for youngsters Will Peatfield and Matt Renouf.
