Watson honoured to play for her country

GUERNSEY star Heather Watson says she cannot wait for the Fed Cup to get under way today.

The teenager, pictured, who is currently ranked No. 106 in the world, was selected by new Fed Cup captain Judy Murray as part of the Aegon GB Fed Cup Team alongside Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong and Laura Robson.

'Playing Fed Cup last year was fantastic,' Watson said.

'I wasn't really expecting to play, but I ended up playing five rubbers and winning four of them.

'It's always such an honour to represent Great Britain. You're not just playing for yourself – this week we're playing for our country and our teammates as well so it's always very special when you get to do that.'
