Duff puts finishing touch to narrow win for locals
AFTER the young guard had done their bit, Guernsey's boxers never looked back in a superb evening in front of a sell-out Beau Sejour crowd.
AFTER the young guard had done their bit, Guernsey's boxers never looked back in a superb evening in front of a sell-out Beau Sejour crowd.
Mason Smale demonstrated his vast potential by winning the first bout of the night for the Sarnians and they never relinquished that lead, winning 9-7 against a strong North-West team.
Saying that, it seemed like the night might be over in double-quick fashion, as the first three bouts were all stopped early in favour of the home side.
Smale may only be 12 and had three bouts, but he looks extremely talented and kept his 100 per cent winning start by stopping Shane McGill in the first round.
