KIERAN MAHON is 'gutted' he will miss out on the chance to win back-to-back Uptons after being suspended for next month's showpiece local club game.

Mahon unwittingly became the centre of an ineligibility storm after not knowing he was suspended for Guernsey FC's 2-0 victory over CB Hounslow United and GFC have been deducted three points as a result.

We have now also learned that Mahon, pictured above, will miss North's biggest match of the season – the clash with Jersey Scottish on Saturday 21 April – as that is part of the original two-match ban for the sending-off against Vale Rec.

He will also miss the Stranger Cup final against Bels and will not be allowed to play for GFC again until 28 April, but was allowed to play in last night's FA Cup semi-final against St Martin's.

However, in a cruel twist of fate, he was carried off after an hour of that 3-2 defeat with a suspected broken ankle. He would be eligible to play for Guernsey against Alderney on Saturday 17 March, but the injury he suffered last night is set to rule him out of that too.
