THE London 2012 Olympic pool has yielded another island long-course record.
Fifteen-year-old Miles Munro yesterday broke the men's mark in the blue riband 100m freestyle, clocking 52.95sec. at the British Gas Swimming Championships to finish fourth in his age group.
The record was previously held by Jeremy Osborne, who in January had broken the standard set by Ian Hubert at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Munro is next in action tomorrow in the 50m freestyle.
Meanwhile, Kristina Neves, the other Sarnian swimmer to have set a new island record this week, competed in the 200m butterfly on day four of the championships, touching in 2min. 17.61sec.
