THE Luke Jones success story has added a new and impressive chapter.
The Guernsey back has been selected as one of eight standby players for the England Under 18 Clubs & Schools team, a side comprising of players not in professional academies, who will play Ireland U18s Clubs on Sunday 15 April.
'Matt Banahan was the last Channel Island rugby player to break through into an England side, but Luke Jones is one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from the Channel Islands in recent times, he represents the future of Guernsey rugby and we are proud,' said Guernsey Rugby Academy director Charlie McHugh.
Jones played for London and South East U18 Division at wing and full back in all the Divisional Festival matches held on 17-19 February when they won against all three other sides and were crowned this year's England Divisional champions.
Those matches were a major factor in him being spotted for an England place.
