HEATHER WATSON cruised past Alize Lim in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the $25,000 ITF Clearwater Women's Open in Florida.

The Sarnian fifth-seed beat the Frenchwoman 6-2, 6-3 to set up a meeting with Shuai Zhang from China, who defeated Watson's fellow British teenager Laura Robson in three sets.

The pair have met once before, Zhang winning in straight sets back in 2010.
