Watson victory

HEATHER WATSON staged a remarkable fightback yesterday to reach the second round of the prestigious Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

The Guernsey girl trailed 5-0 in the deciding set, but then showed her strength of character to recover and claim a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 victory in the WTA Premier event.

Watson will now face 27th seed Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic.
