Men in hunt for play-offs

GUERNSEY'S men were extremely unlucky to lose out in their big game against a strong Sri Lankan side yesterday in Dortmund.

Channel Island number one Garry Dodd set the Sarnians on their way with a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Sri Lankan number 2, Nirmala Jayasingha, reversing a 2-1 deficit in the process.

Olly Langlois was up next, but he was unable to get the better of Sri Lanka's top player, Rohan Sirisena, who won in straight games and levelled the match.

Scott Romeril had a poor start in the match between the number threes as he was comprehensively dispatched in the first leg.
