ALISON MERRIEN kept her unbeaten record intact in the WBL Women's World Cup at the Warilla club in New South Wales yesterday.

She accounted for a new face on the world scene, Elizabeth Rereiti, from the south sea island of Niue.

'I didn't know anything about her, and the rink was quite tricky, so I was a bit anxious, but I settled well, and soon got into my stride and I was very pleased with my 14-4, 10-3 victory,' said Guernsey's newest Member of the British Empire.

Merrien has now played two and won two, and has scored 54 shots while conceding only 12, but she is the first to admit she has tougher tests to face before the group programme is complete.
