New coach goes for Walden as his captain

AARON WALDEN is the choice as new island men's basketball team captain.

Walden, 22, pictured, heads a 12-strong squad named for the matches against Jersey in the sister isle on 28 April.

Guernsey have beaten Jersey for the past five seasons and new coach Adam Farish is happy with a squad that includes Panthers' main man Martin Yabsley, but not his new Latvian team-mate Kalvis Sprude.

Farish sung the praises of Walden and explained why he has left out the highly-talented Sprude.
