GUERNSEY'S rugby talisman enjoyed his day in the spotlight on Saturday.

The result was exactly what the London One South formbook had suggested going into this top versus bottom clash, so it was the ideal time for Nick Barton to take the individual plaudits.

A quiet man off the pitch, the New Zealander has been a colossus for Guernsey on it since he arrived in the island and by the end of these 80 minutes he was deservedly leading his side from the field with two significant milestones to his name.

Of the 14 tries Guernsey ran in at Footes Lane, the masterful No. 8 had six of them, including the all-important bonus-point try as well as the final four as he demonstrated his quality of giving 100% at all times.
