KRISTINA NEVES has broken another two long-standing Guernsey swimming records in a dominant display at the Hampshire County Championships in Portsmouth.

The 15-year-old entered 12 events during the championship and won a staggering 20 Hampshire titles, 10 of those in the senior ranks and the other 10 junior titles.

Most impressive was lowering both the 100m and 200m backstroke long-course records in the 50m pool, previously set by Michelle Bingham way back in the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur.

Over the longer distance, Neves' time of 2min. 24.48sec. took nearly 2sec. off Bingham's effort of 2-26.14, with the teenager winning the race comfortably from Jersey's Emily Bashforth.

It was a closer-run thing in the 100m, but Neves' time of 1-07.85 just shaved time off Bingham's original mark of 1-07.89.
