SCOT Steven Allan ended a disappointed Gary Pitschou's dream of a world title in South Wales yesterday.
Pitschou had to settle for the runner- up spot in the WIBC world indoor bowls championship at the Islwyn club in Pontllanfraith in Gwent, when he lost, 6-6, 2-11, in the final.
But the 48-year-old Sarnian did Guernsey proud and actually deserved to have won the first set of the final against his deadly opponent, who two years ago won the world under-25 title.
'If only I had managed to win that first set, I would have been guaranteed a tiebreak,' sighed Pitschou afterwards.
