THE men's doubles has served up one of the biggest shocks of the 2012 Island Table Tennis Championships so far.
There were some epic seven-game encounters along the way as fourth seeds Olly Langlois and Matt Stubbington set up a final with sixth seeds Liam Robilliard and Paul Hainsworth.
Langlois and Stubbington opened with a comfortable 4-0 win over the fourth division pairing of Stefan Sayer and Josh Davey, their reward being a quarter-final clash with the experienced pairing of Mark Pipet and Phil Hunkin.
The number five seeds won eight of their 10 doubles matches during the Division One campaign and proved to be a massive test for the young Panthers pair.
