VALE REC completed a perfect season last night as they were crowned Corbet Cup champions.

Their victory in the final at the Corbet Field made it 14 out of 14 in an irresistable campaign with hotshot striker Alistair Chalmers leading the way with a splendid hat-trick that earned him the Tim Hollyer-Hill Memorial Trophy as man of the match.

Chalmers gave his side a 2-0 lead with two goals in the space of two first-half minutes, firstly applying a precise finish to Zac Felbabel's outstanding pass, before rounding the keeper to add the second from captain Jacques Wilcox's through ball.

Rory Betley quickly added a third with a left-foot curler and on 18min. Josh Smith made it 4-0, cutting in from the flank and shooting into the bottom corner.
