Watson wins again

THE number four seed Petra Cektovska stands in the way of Heather Watson and a place in the quarter-finals of the Estoril Open in Portugal.

Watson scored a fine 6-4, 6-4 win over world No. 98 Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic yesterday to set up a third-round meeting with the world No. 28 this afternoon.

Watson has also progressed to the second round of the women's doubles, in which she is partnering Alexandra Panova.

The British-Russian combination eased through their opening match yesterday against Kristina Barrois and Jasmin Woehr.

The German pair were well beaten 6-2, 6-0.

Watson and Panova will now face Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears in the second round.
