But Guernsey face that prospect in Saturday's Siam Cup when they come face to face with a Jersey rugby club who will ply their trade next season in the Championship, just one level below the might of such illustrious sides as Harlequins and Leicester Tigers.
In fairness, the Reds are always favourites when it comes to the annual encounter for the second oldest trophy in rugby, but Guernsey coach Jordan Reynolds admits that the gulf between the clubs on a national level is there for all to see.
'It is always is a big challenge,' said the man who has led his team into National Three next season.
