GEORGE MASON led the way in the 1,500m on the second edition of the Intertrust Junior Grand Prix in cold and blustery conditions at Footes Lane.

Taking on the race from the start, Mason ran away from Luke Winberg to win in 4min. 44.3sec.

Other strong performances came from 14-year-old Jordan Stokes, who won the 200m and also doubled in the long jump for good measure with a lifetime best of 4.89m.

One of the most keenly anticipated races of the night was the U13 girls' 100m, in which Vicky Mann took the honours with 14.35sec. in a blanket finish from Sara Marley and Amy Sharpe.

Cameron Chalmers sped to victory in his rarely raced distance of 400m in 57.13sec.

The next Grand Prix takes place on Tuesday 29 May at 6.15pm.
