EIGHT professional clubs have inquired about Guernsey FC players during the past season, manager Tony Vance revealed yesterday.

Football League interest in star striker Ross Allen was rumoured throughout the season, but Vance, speaking at an Institute of Directors' lunch, said that there had been more interest that had never been made public.

'There has been interest in our players,' he said. 'We've kept it fairly quiet but eight professional clubs approached us about our players. Fortunately none of them have gone – yet. I've managed to convince them to stay.'

Vance said that as Guernsey FC sought to continue to climb the non-league pyramid, he expected more scouts to follow his players.
