THE immediate future of Vale Rec seems to be in safe hands following a season of unqualified youth cup success.

The club's under-12s, U14s, U16s and U18s carried out a clean sweep of the major cup competitions and, according to club secretary Lester Forman, the future is looking bright.

'We are all very proud of the younger boys this season. They have done very well,' he said.

'Despite some indifferent league form, the under-18s really managed to pull it together in both the Loveridge and Old Vic cups.

'The under-16s finished second in the league and won the Normandie Cup, while the under-14s won the Le Prevost Cup and finished third in the league.
