Kneller the star man as Tigers roar to top of table

A FINE all-round performance from Ross Kneller helped send Cobo Tigers to the top of Lancaster Trustees Evening League First Division table after thumping previous occupants Rovers at the KGV.

The battle between the league's two big names had, on paper at least, the look of a cracker and it was still looking 50-50 at the halfway mark after Cobo had scored 140 for six from 20 overs.

But Rovers never got near that, losing wickets at regular intervals to fall 60 runs short, such a margin seeing Cobo overturn their opponent's superior net run rate to go top.

Kneller cleaned up the Rovers order to finish with figures of four for 11, following on from his crucial 60 with the bat, amassed from just 39 deliveries.
