A LARGE contingent of Guernsey players will be travelling to Brisbane next week for the World Indoor Netball Championships.

Eight players have been selected from Guernsey to represent England in the competition – Hannah Blondel, Alice Gallienne and Isla Murdoch for the under-21 women's team, Karl Abbotts, Donna Brehaut, Luke Penney and Naomi Taylor for the mixed and James Robert and Rob Jennings for the open men's team.

Penney, 21, is really looking forward to the experience.

'It will be a fantastic experience, but tough at the same time. When we went over to the UK for our fortnightly training camps, the standard was at a much higher level and was played at a much faster pace,' he said.
