HEATHER WATSON has seen her French Open dream end for this year after bravely falling to Julia Goerges 6-3, 6-4 at Roland Garros yesterday.
One of only two Britons left standing in the singles events going into her second-round encounter, the Guernsey girl came up just short against Germany's number 25 seed Goerges out on court two after a long day's wait.
'I expected myself to get through ''qualies'', and when I saw the draw I expected myself to win my first round,' said Watson afterwards.
'I'm coming in with a different mentality now, a more confident approach.
'Julia played well, she didn't give me any rhythm at all and that's what these top players do.'
