THE Guernsey Juniors have booked themselves a trip to Hampshire.

They won the Channel Islands section of the Green Jackets golf competition with a fine 2-1 victory over La Moye at L'Ancresse on Sunday in tricky conditions which saw the wind increase throughout the morning.

From a relatively early stage, it seemed the overall result was going to be determined by the middle match of the three.

In the first rubber out, Jeremy Nicolle was up against an in-form Jack Gibson, one of the rising stars of Jersey golf, and the visitor was in control for much of the encounter on his way to wrapping up their contest on the 14th.

However, it was a different story in the last match out, which was a clash of the two captains.
