Oldfield progressing well

JACK OLDFIELD went up an age group to win the Under-16 Sanchez Casals Master Series tournament.

Now 14 years old, the Guernsey boy (pictured) has nearly completed his second year at the Academy Sanchez Casals in Barcelona since moving there aged 12.

His game appears to be developing well, too.

The punishing regime of one hour's fitness and at least three hours of tennis a day goes on day in, day out and his local trainer, Jo Robinson, who visited the academy for three days this term, is particularly impressed with Oldfield's dedication and self-reliance so far from home.
