Luke Blondel shot an outstanding five-under-par net 65 yesterday at L'Ancresse for a two-round aggregate of 138 – a joint lead with Kevin Masterton, who carded an excellent 67.
Playing off five, Blondel started with a birdie at the first and picked up shots at the fourth and sixth holes as he reached the turn in 34 gross, the bogeys having come at the fifth and ninth.
Back-to-back birdies on 14 and 15 were the highlights of his back nine where he dropped shots at 13, 16 and 18 in his level-par round of 70 gross.
