The atrocious weather prevented any play on finals day at Port Soif, where the hospitality marquee had been repositioned overnight by the wind, and so Lee Savident's side were crowned 2012 champions by virtue of having finished top of the table in the round-robin stage.
Although Savident would rather have won with victory in the final over JT Giants, he was still delighted to lift the trophy on Saturday afternoon in a hastily arranged presentation lunch at Cobo Bay Hotel.
'What it has done is prove that our consistency has turned out to be very important,' said the Mourant skipper.
