HEATHER WATSON will look to kick on her progress, post-Wimbledon, after reaching a career-high number 79 in the latest set of world rankings.
The 20-year-old Guernsey girl reached the third round at SW19 in a successful fortnight for British tennis, winning her first match on the legendary Centre Court in the process.
She has been rewarded by becoming the new British number two, just four ranking places below Anne Keothavong, jumping 24 places from her position pre-tournament.
After the best Grand Slam of her fledgling career, Watson has also been boosted by the words of her former coach, Nick Bollettieri, who has guided the Sarnian ever since she moved to America aged 12.
