AFTER a month of Twenty20 cricket, the island game reverts to the longer format this weekend with the start of the new Investec CI League season.
There is a double-header of all-Guernsey 50-over clashes tomorrow to kick off the two CI groups and all five Sarnian clubs will be looking to break the recent dominance of Old Victorians, who likely start 2012 as favourites to retain their crown.
Guernsey's best performers last year were ORs, who have reached the last two finals and are in the opposite five-team group to OVs, starting their campaign against local champions Argylls at Port Soif.
Lee Savident once again skippers ORs and he is confident his side, who have lost Jordon Martel but gained Andy Hutchinson, are ready to go one step further.
'If our batting and bowling both fire consistently, then there is no reason why we can't win every game we play,' he said.
