ON A day of low scoring, Bill Le Huray and Paul Bourgaize came in with 35 points late in the day to claim the Noel Shield.

The pair were playing off a combined handicap of 10 in the inter-club foursomes competition and did not get off to the best of starts as they walked off the first with a 'blob' on their card.

However, by the time they reached the turn, they had 19 points to their name.

A par at the second gave them three points to set them on their way and that was one of three net birdies on the front nine. But the highlight was a three on the fifth which equated to four points for a net eagle.

The start of their back nine was very steady with four net pars followed by a three-pointer on the long 14th.
