RUNNERS-UP for two successive seasons, Lee Savident's ORs side are determined to move up a step and land this year's Channel Islands Championship title.

And the manner in which they blew away Argylls, the Guernsey champions, in the stiff Port Soif breeze on Saturday afternoon suggests that they are more than well equipped not only to progress from the group stage but also go all the way to the final.

The game was all over at half-past two, ORs having eased to their target of 98 for the loss of just two wickets in 19.3 overs.

You could say it was a stroll in a draughty park.

The young Argylls side badly missed their talisman, GH Smit, and, indeed, anyone to dig in and battle them out of trouble.
