TWO decades after hosting arguably the greatest Island Games ever in 2003, Guernsey could well welcome the world to these shores again in 2023 or 2025.

Guernsey Island Games Association games liaison director Jon Marley (pictured) has confirmed that 'low-level' talks have begun over the possibility of bidding to host the Games for the third time.

'It is fair to say that there are very basic thoughts on it about hosting in 2023 or 2025,' he said.

'We would have to hold proper talks with both Culture and Leisure and the States of Guernsey before we did anything. But we have discussed it in brief and we certainly would like to host the Games again at some point in the future.'
