There was a double-dip recession at the Corbet Field on Saturday afternoon and Guernsey's men bowlers duly suffered for it.
They dipped behind to the Le Quesne Trophy holders early on, fought back to threaten a victory two-thirds in, before subsiding badly over the closing ends and losing by 29.
An afternoon which started with real hope within the Sarnian camp ended grimly as the sister isle won on all six rinks, even the great Matt Le Ber unable to rescue his match against Thomas Greechan's excellent quartet, no matter how hard he tried and ends he killed.
