IT MAY be a change of tournament, but the rain is once again playing havoc at Wimbledon and with it the Olympic aspirations of Heather Watson.

The 20-year-old Guernsey girl was due to begin her London 2012 singles campaign on the grass courts of SW19 against Silvia Soler Espinosa yesterday afternoon, but the British weather meant a truncated day two of competition.

When the Sarnian does get on court today, she will be looking to improve on her women's doubles fortunes, having already been knocked out of that particular event alongside fellow GB youngster Laura Robson.

It was the fourth British defeat on the opening Saturday of the Games. Elena Baltacha secured the only home victory to negotiate her way through the round of 64, a feat that Watson will be looking to copy during the second match on court 17 later today, the preceding contest scheduled for an 11.30am start.
