AGAINST a strong Ireland side who are out to regain the title, Guernsey had their work cut out yesterday as the ICC European Under-15 Division One Championship got under way.
However, luck was not on the hosts' side once they lost the toss at the KGV as the elements conspired against them, too, in a 107-run defeat under the D/L method.
Batting first, Ireland scored 277 for six before rain brought an end to their innings, with the end being played in heavy rain.
Jack Tector top-scored with 80, while William McClintock scored an aggressive 50 from just 32 balls.
