A QUICKFIRE five-wicket burst put paid to any hopes Guernsey had of challenging Scotland in the Sarnians' second match of the ICC European U15 Division One Championship at Port Soif.
Having restricted the Scots to 170 for nine from their 50 overs after a decent bowling effort, Guernsey were still very much in the game.
But after reaching four without loss, their technique was brutally exposed as they lost those five wickets for just the addition of two further runs.
Suddenly, the scoreboard read a barely believable six for five and any hopes of chasing down the target were all but gone and it was damage limitation.
Those top five batsmen scored just four runs off the bat between them off a total of 46 deliveries and four of those five were clean bowled, misreading straight deliveries.
