Double winner Hamon equals record
JAMES HAMON enjoyed a sensational day in the sun yesterday.
JAMES HAMON enjoyed a sensational day in the sun yesterday.
The 17-year-old Channel Islands junior champion, pictured, equalled the L'Ancresse course record in the morning round on his way to a brilliant Le Riche and Tradesmen's Cups double.
A stunning birdie blitz on the back nine earned the teenager a share of the record along with Garry McFarlane and Bobby Eggo, who both made their scores back in 2008.
The in-form Hamon had gone out in one-under-par 34, a fair return by anyone's standards but hardly a sign of what was to come.
He had actually been one over through five holes, dropping his only shot of the round on the second, before getting back to level with a birdie on the long sixth.
