LGM aiming to cause an upset

LA GRANDE MARE have nothing to lose at Grouville tomorrow in the Channel Islands final of the 2012 Hampshire Sevens.

Chris Walker's men enjoyed excellent victories over Royal Guernsey and the Guernsey Juniors to win the Bailiwick section of the event for the first time in 12 years and, although their captain admitted that ideally he would have liked a home CI final, he backed his players to rise to the occasion in Jersey.

'With this sort of competition, home advantage is pretty huge,' Walker said.

'I think some of our guys have played the course once, but a couple have not seen it at all, so while we have got the normal practice round on Saturday, we are going over early to get an extra round in.'
