Old Victorians openers hold sway in wind

IT WON'T be an all-Guernsey cricket final to this year's CI Club Championship.

Old Victorians, the defending champions, ensured Caesarean representation in the final with an ultimately comfortable victory over ORs in lead bails conditions at Port Soif on Saturday.

But OVs will have to wait another fortnight to discover who will stand in their way of another CI crown, Saturday's other scheduled all-Sarnian semi-final between Cobo Tigers and Argylls being washed out without a ball being bowled.

Heavy overnight rain rendered the KGV square unplayable and the two sides will now try again on the scheduled finals day with the showpiece match being put back to 15 September.
