Argylls aim to dethrone the defending champions

ARGYLLS are out to make the step up from Guernsey cricket champions to Channel Islands kings tomorrow at the KGV.

They are up against Investec CI League title-holders Old Victorians and are in confident move following last weekend's eight-wicket mauling of Cobo in the rescheduled semi-final.

'Winning the CI League after winning the GCA title for the last couple of years would show good progression for this team,' said Argylls and Guernsey all-rounder Dave Hooper, who will have a pivotal role to play with both bat and ball tomorrow.

'But they have still got the likes of Peter Gough, who has got a good head on his shoulders, and Tom Minty, who has got a lot of experience, so we will definitely not underestimate them.'
