VALE REC moved joint top of the Priaulx League after an excellent performance saw a comprehensive victory in the first Friday night match of the season.

Aside from Marc McGrath's superb second-half strike, there was little joy for the hosts as their week went from bad to worse, shipping 14 goals in a three-day and two-game period.

And as it happened, the excellent Sean Mills and Glenn Le Tissier could have ensured the final margin was even greater against an inexperienced Saints outfit.

The visitors were 2-0 up at the break through Mills and Le Tissier and, although McGrath threatened a revival, the same Rec duo added another apiece to secure the three points.
