Yobbos first hurdle for champs to clear

COLOMBIANS are not expecting to have it all their own way as they begin the defence of their men's hockey title this weekend.

The Channel Island champions face Yobbos tomorrow afternoon as the six-team Division One starts with the three expected title rivals all kept apart in the first round of matches.

Independents and Casuals will be looking to push Colombians all the way and all three sides have added new faces to their squads.

If the reigning champions are to defend their title, their captain Matt Watson knows they will have to produce some top hockey in the process.

'We are in with a very good shout again this year, although we have lost a couple of players who have retired,' he said.
