ANDY WHALLEY has been featuring on the international stage once again, captaining the England Mixed team to an away series win over Wales.

The 38-year-old Guernsey hockey star has led his birth country on various occasions and kept that run going with two tests in Cardiff last month.

He went on to score in England's 2-1 win in the first match and then again in the thrilling 3-3 drawn second encounter, those goals decisive in his side's overall 5-4 aggregate success.

'I don't score too many goals being a midfielder, so it was great to chip in, especially the timing of them,' Whalley said.
