Heather Watson through in Japan

HEATHER WATSON this morning beat the sixth seed and the world No. 40 from Spain to reach the quarter-finals of the Japan Open in Osaka.

Watson took 2hrs 37min. to beat Spain's Annabel Medina Garrigues 6-7, 6-2, 6-3. She now plays Pauline Parmentier of France.
