Guernsey up for hardest opener

GUERNSEY have a 'fire in their bellies' as they prepare to start this season's EH Trophy campaign with a tricky away trip this weekend.

The Sarnians are former winners of the national knockout cup and were finalists last season, being edged out 2-1 by Gateshead in April.

That defeat has given a strong outfit even more focus as they prepare for Tulse Hill and Dulwich, according to player-coach Andy Whalley.

'We were hugely disappointed to lose out in the final because we played well but didn't take our chances,' he said.
